General Mills Flour Recalls Prompt Simmons Recall of Select Breaded Products
General Mills recently expanded the scope of its original May 31, 2016 wheat flour recall, affecting various brands and ingredient producers. An ingredient supplier of Simmons Prepared Foods provided notification that a limited amount of wheat flour provided by General Mills utilized in a breading recipe is subject to this expanded recall.
Simmons used this breading in a small test batch of chicken fritters with limited distribution. Out of an abundance of caution, Simmons issued a recall of potentially affected products in cooperation with the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Simmons has not received any reports of consumer illnesses related to Simmons products associated with this supplier issue.

Consumers who believe they may have one of these products are encouraged review purchases and immediately destroy any products matching the case codes above. Customers are encouraged to return labels to the place of purchase for a credit or refund or call (479) 215-2296 for assistance.
