Simmons Pet Food today announced its commitment to match up to $150,000 in donations supporting the construction of a dog park in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. The company plans to provide financial and hands-on support for fellow pet lovers hoping to bring a dog park to the town.
“We love our pet families and we’re excited for the opportunity to help create a wonderful social environment for our pet and pet parent communities in Northwest Arkansas,” said David Jackson, President and Chief Operating Officer of Simmons Pet Food.
“Several of our team members have served on the committee to design and fundraise for the park,” Mark Simmons, Chairman of Simmons Foods added. “We’re eager to support their effort and the community in making this dog park a reality.”
The city has approved a Dog Park for Siloam Springs and the proposed site is located on Benton Street. Plans include a large dog, small dog an agility area for pets.
The total cost of the dog park is estimated at $280,000. A dedicated group of volunteers is actively working to bring a dog park to Siloam Springs. They recently launched a GoFundMe page to collect individual donations for the park.
Sponsorship opportunities are available for corporate advertising as well as individual recognition as a part of the permanent structure of the facility.
Parks Manager Troy Kirkendall shared, “We’re proud of our Siloam Springs parks and trail system. This project is a perfect fit for the existing amenities in Bob Henry Park which already include a playground and skate park along with basketball, sand volleyball and tennis courts.”
