Today, Simmons Foods announced plans for a $100 Million expansion of its prepared foods operation located at 2101 Twin Circle Drive in Van Buren, Arkansas.
According to Joel Sappenfield, President of Simmons Prepared Foods, “This investment will create 100 new jobs, including highly skilled positions to support robotics and automation processes. The expansion will also support growth in the local economy and assist in meeting market demand for one of the fastest growing segments of the business - cooked products.”
Simmons Foods announced it will provide a donation to help fund the splash pad and soccer field projects included in the Master Parks Plan for the City of Gentry, Arkansas. The new splash pad, located in the northwest quarter of Gentry's city park which lies between Main Street and Third Street, is nearing completion. Simmons Foods is offering COVID-19 vaccines to thousands of its team members in Arkansas beginning this week. The drive-thru vaccine clinics are being held in conjunction with Simmons network of Care Clinics and on-site medical professionals. The clinics were made possible last week after the state opened priority vaccine distribution to food industry workers.
