Simmons Further Processing Facilities Achieve Shared Safety Milestone

Four Further Processing facilities at Simmons Prepared Foods, Inc. collectively reached over 14 million safe man-hours without a lost time accident - an outstanding accomplishment!

“No lost time” means that no team member has missed work due to injury on the job. The company will recognize this accomplishment with celebrations at each facility throughout September and October along with thank you gifts for Team Members.

Nearly 2,000 team members at Van Buren Cook, Siloam Further Processing, Van Buren Main and Van Buren Zero contributed to this outstanding and ongoing effort.

  • Van Buren Cook: 4.1 Million Hours
  • Van Buren Main: 5.7 Million Hours
  • Van Buren Zero: 580,000 Hours
  • Siloam Springs Further Processing: 4.1 Million Hours

"This kind of achievement requires careful attention and a commitment to always work safely,” said Brian Burke, Vice President of Further Processing, Simmons Prepared Foods. “We are proud of this accomplishment and must continue striving to address risks before they become a hazard to our Team Members with a goal of zero injuries and illnesses. We celebrate to affirm how important it is that Simmons continues to be a safe, healthy place where you can do your best work.”

Safety at Simmons begins with specific training for new Team Members along with ongoing safety training in safety processes and practices at all production facilities. Team members have immediate access to trained and skilled operations supervisors, leadership and full-time Safety and Occupational Health Professionals at production facilities. These teams work to continuously improve occupational safety, health along with identifying and addressing potential hazards through direct observation of work processes.

Congratulations to these facilities for making safe the way we work!
