Simmons Pet Food Emporia Facility Donates Over $20,000 to United Way

Team members from Simmons Pet Food in Emporia presented a check in the amount of $21,527.36 to the United Way of Flint Hills. The facility increased employee participation in the campaign by 25% and giving by 57%.

"I am amazed by the incredible generosity of our team members in Emporia. They deeply care about our company, each other and our community. This donation proves that our team members are personally taking responsibility for the community’s quality of life and are committed to supporting the great work of the United Way of Flint Hills,” said Brian Potter, Sr. Director of Operations, Emporia.

The United Way of Flint Hills is a local, non-profit organization focused on meeting local needs through four key areas: education, income, and health. 

“We are so impressed by the level of support we receive from Simmons Pet Food and all of their employees,” said Jami Reever, executive director of the United Way of Flint Hills. “Not only did this company increase their employee participation by 25 percent they also increased their giving by 57 percent, and that’s in addition to a generous corporate gift.
